About Yarbrough Insurance Group

Christy Yarbrough, President

Christy founded Yarbrough Insurance Group, LLC in 2014. Prior to opening Yarbrough Insurance Group, Christy worked for an independent Insurance agency.

Christy graduated from Saginaw Valley State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2012.

In her spare time, Christy enjoys spending her time with her husband Jeremy and their three wonderful daughters, Nora, Kate, and Meg. She also enjoys playing sports, riding horses, running, and reading.

Jeremy Yarbrough, Vice President

Jeremy is the Vice President of Yarbrough Insurance Group. Jeremy has been in the insurance business since 2008.

Jeremy handles the commercial and farm lines of business for Yarbrough Insurance Group.

When Jeremy is not helping clients protect their assets, you can find him spending time with his business partner and wife, Christy and their three girls – Nora, Kate, and Meg. As a family they enjoy horse back riding, traveling, sports, exercising, and spending time outdoors.

Kelly Bertovich, Chief Operations Officer

Kelly joined Yarbrough Insurance Group in 2022 as Chief Operations Officer.

Kelly grew up on a vegetable farm in Armada. Her adventures took her to South Carolina and Tennessee for several years, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee.

While her career has spanned a diverse array of businesses, the most recent 12 years had been in manufacturing.

Back in Michigan since 2004, Kelly currently resides in North Branch with her husband, Dan, and their son, Stosh. Kelly enjoys cooking, spending time with family and attending her son’s hockey and baseball games.

Pete Michael, Account Executive

Pete grew up in Utica and graduated from Lutheran High School in Macomb Township. He now resides in Almont. After high school, he worked in landscape design, installation and sales for about a decade. He then took a management position with a large residential roofing company.

Pete joined our team in July 2019 and is licensed in property, casualty and life insurance.

Pete and his wife, Shannon, have four children, Jonathan, Grace, Katelyn and Jacob. He enjoys spending time with his family and coaching baseball and softball.

Josh Pilgrim, Account Executive

Josh grew up in Capac and graduated from Capac High School. He currently resides in the village of Almont. After getting married Josh moved to Orlando, Florida where he lived for five years. While there he worked in the hospitality industry.

Josh has been working in insurance since 2013. He is licensed in property, casualty, and life Insurance.

In his spare time, Josh spends time with his wife, Amber, and their two boys, Aiden and Landon. He enjoys being outdoors, cooking and coaching for the Almont Youth Football Program.

Nick Burton, Account Executive

Nick grew up in Armada, MI and graduated from Armada High School in 2013. Nick currently resides in Armada and graduated from Oakland University in 2021.

Nick is licensed in property, casualty, life, and health insurance, and joins Yarbrough Insurance Group with recent insurance experience. He is very excited to continue to help the community with their insurance needs.

In his spare time, Nick enjoys being in the outdoors, and loves fishing and hunting. Nick also grew up showing lambs in 4H, and he and his dad breed sheep and sell lambs to kids who show them competitively throughout Michigan. Nick hopes to continue the family business and stay connected to the youth livestock community in the years to come.

Michele Goetzinger, Office Manager

Michele joined Yarbrough Insurance Group in 2015. Prior to joining the team, Michele worked in Fund Development in the non-profit arena for ten years.

Michele graduated from Western Michigan University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations.

In her spare time, Michele enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe and three children. She can often be found reading, playing volleyball and enjoying the outdoors.

Lynn Zarate, Customer Relations Representative

Lynn joined Yarbrough Insurance Group in March of 2022. She brings 25 years of insurance experience to the agency. She is licensed in Property, Casualty, Health and Life insurance.

Lynn lives in the area and is active in the community. Currently, she belongs to the Almont Lions Club and the Romeo Area Kiwanis Club.

Lynn is married, has two sons and four grandchildren. She and her husband, Carlos, love to travel and spend time with their family.

Devon Travis, Customer Relations Representative

Devon joined Yarbrough Insurance Group in April 2022 as a Customer Relations Representative. She arrives with previous Customer Service Representative experience in insurance, which she acquired while attending college. Earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Oakland University in 2015, she worked in the nonprofit world on and off for 20 years.

Devon grew up in Dryden, where she raised her daughter and still resides there with her husband, Dustin, who is also from Dryden.

Devon enjoys spending time with family, reading, swimming and going to the boardwalk in Port Huron to watch the freighters. Devon is looking forward to welcoming her first grandbaby in the Fall.

Ian Conley, Customer Relations Representative

Ian grew up in North Branch and graduated from North Branch High School in 2019. Ian currently resides in North Branch and attended St. Clair County Community College where he studied business management and was a dual scholarship athlete in golf and bowling.

Ian joined the team in May of 2024 and is licensed in property and casualty.

In his spare time, Ian enjoys playing golf and bowling in many leagues. If he isn’t at the golf course or bowling alley, he’s spending time working on the family farm helping with the horses, sheep, and four border collies.

Amy Bowers, Customer Relations Representative

Amy grew up in Southern Ohio and graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene. Her profession led her to work in multiple factories and a non-profit monitoring worker health and safety. She most recently worked in the medical field.

Amy and her husband, Jack, moved to Almont in 2012. They have three children, Brennen, Declan and Claire. In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and volunteering with the PTA.

Amy is licensed in Property, Casualty and Life Insurance and is happy to help you with your insurance questions!

Shelly O’Neill, Customer Relations Representative

Shelly joined Yarbrough Insurance Group in 2024 working as a Customer Relations Representative and is licensed in Property and Casualty insurance. Prior to joining the team, Shelly worked in the medical field for 18 years and is currently pursuing her associate degree in business.

Shelly graduated from Capac High School in 2004 and has stayed in the area since. She now lives in Capac with her husband Kevin, their daughter Taylor and new puppy, Lilly. In her spare time, Shelly enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, being outdoors and traveling. She also enjoys crafting, woodworking, and repurposing old items.
